Join San Diego County Park rangers on a nature-filled hike during the annual Border BioBlitz! The Border BioBlitz is a community science effort to record as many species as possible along the U.S.-Mexico border. Participants will photograph plants, animals, and other wildlife using the free iNaturalist app or website. Every observation you submit contributes valuable data that helps land managers, scientists, and community members better understand and protect the natural resources in our region.
Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or brand‑new to community science, the Border Bioblitz is a fun way to connect with nature and support conservation.
The hike will start at Tijuana River Valley Regional Park Ranger Station - it will be about 2 miles round trip on a moderate incline of the East Mesa loop. Be sure to bring good footwear and plenty of water in your refillable bottle.

Join California State Parks and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for this year’s City Nature Challenge, an international community science event where people around the world document the plants and wildlife living in their cities.
We invite you to take part in this effort on Sunday, April 26, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve. During this hands-on event, participants will explore the estuary and photograph plants, animals, and other wildlife using the free iNaturalist app or website. Every observation you submit contributes valuable data that helps land managers, scientists, and community members better understand and protect the natural resources in our region.
